Why You Should Travel

I love travelling. Travelling is one of the best things you can do. When you hop on a plane and land in a country you have never experienced before it’s truly an amazing thing.

Travelling gives you different perspectives on life. You will see how other people live and you will see how everything is done in a different country.

You will notice that something that is normal in your home country may be done a different way in another country. When you see the world you will develop a deeper perspective and understanding of it.

I was fortunate enough to have parents who took me to a few places overseas like Bali, Europe, USA, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Because of this I developed life experience and a passion for travel at a young age.

In my late teens and early twenties I visited Thailand a couple times, Singapore, USA, Europe and recently Japan.

Although I am only 26, I have visited a lot of the world and experienced what life is like in these countries. However it’s never too late to start if you haven’t seen the world. I plan to do more international travel in the future.

You should take action and go on an overseas trip. Don’t go through life never experiencing other countries. Life is too short.

It’s really easy to travel, you just need a passport, flights, accommodation and a suitcase packed with clothes and whatever else you want to take. It’s so easy to travel. You will notice that when someone comes back from a holiday they have caught the travel bug and you see them planning their next trip. This might happen to you!

I have seen people who are really materialistic and have never left the country go on a holiday and then you see them change and now they can’t wait to plan another holiday because they had such a great experience.

I know what you are thinking “yes a holiday would be nice but I don’t have the money!”

You will need some money to travel; flights will cost you hundreds of dollars or up to a couple thousand dollars. But that is the most expensive part because you can spend as much on accommodation as you want. You can stay at a back packers place for $20 a night or you can stay at a nice hotel for $200 a night. That choice is up to you. The point is travelling doesn’t not have to be expensive. All you need is a $1000 or so to start and if you follow the advice on my site on how to manage money and set goals you will have no problem financing a trip. Trust me.

One of the best feelings in the world is landing in a new country and seeing how different everything is, I remember my first overseas flight to Bali when I was 9 years old. It was a 3 hour flight from my home in Australia. It was a rainy day so as we descended underneath the clouds I saw a different country for the first time in my life. I remember seeing how tropical and green everything was and all the coconut trees lining the airport.

Once we got out of the airport was when the real culture shock hit, heavy tropical rain, streets that were so busy with cars that were different to what I have seen, an unusual amount of scooters on the road as well, the smell of south east Asia, the sheer busy-ness of the place, the Balinese people, the Indonesian language, the little stalls on the side of the road, people sitting on the side of the road, the big hotels and all the tourist, the different vegetation and nature of Indonesia, the rice fields and farms and everything else, this was all new information to my 9 year old brain all within the point of the plane landing and getting to the hotel. And all this was only less than a 3 hour flight from home. Crazy!

You will experience this amazing feeling with every new country you visit, if you never travel and have stayed in your home country your whole life you will get stale and miss out on all this. Personally I would love to travel somewhere over seas at least once a year or once every two years even if it’s an inexpensive holiday.

Travelling will make you a more interesting person with more to talk about. When you are talking to someone and they start talking about their adventures you can relate to that. Talking about travelling is a really good way to build rapport with a girl as well. And speaking of girls, meeting local girls in a country you are visiting is the best.

So what are you waiting for? Plan a holiday and go see the world!
