HOW TO SPOT A FAKE ACCOUNT ON TINDER

How many guys are victims of fake accounts on tinder or some other online dating or social media site each year? The answer is probably MILLIONS!

You have seen the TV show catfish for some examples.

Why are there so many fake accounts? I don’t know. There must be so many strange people out there who make these fake accounts to get back at someone, for attention, to steal personal information, to get guys to send them photos or other reasons. Either way what these people are doing is not right.

So many guys are lead on, have their time wasted, share personal information, meet up, and are victims to everything else these freaks do them online every day!

I have been using tinder for some time and while I have in the past been a victim of a fake account to some degree over time I have become an expert in spotting these fakes very early so I can unmatch them and move on.

Just the other day a guy at my work got on tinder for the first time and was telling me he was talking to a girl and when I asked him to show me her I couldn’t believe it. He was talking to an extremely obvious fake account and he had given her his house address! I told him everything I knew about fake accounts so he knows better next time.

In this article I will tell you everything I know because I want you boys to never be a victim to these fakes.

Now not all accounts that you think are fakes are actually fakes but always keep these points in mind because some a very good fakes as I will explain what they do below.

Ok so I will try to put this in order of obvious to not so obvious.

One of the obvious signs that so many guys still fall for is if you match with a girl who looks like a 10 out of 10 supermodel. Think perfect face, big fake boobs, perfect body etc. think a girl hotter than any girl you have got in your life and you match with her. Another thing I see often is the pics of the girl are from some hot chick off instagram that I follow so I know 100% its fake off the bat! Now of course if you are high value guy or you get lucky she might actually be real but keep this obvious red flag in mind and keep screening.

Now this is a huge red flag. The hottest girl of your life that you matched with a minute ago has now sent you a message. And on top of that when you send her messages back she is replying straight away! Now come on, do you really think this super model like this would even be on tinder and if she was do you really think she would be this interested in you? No offense like I said if your high value as fuck maybe she would but it’s a red flag.

LOOK AT THE PHOTOS! LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND! What do you see? I live in Australia so it’s easy for me to spot fakes because a lot of the time it’s some European or American girls photos, things that point out are the light switches in the bedrooms are American light switches, or the cars are American cars and parked on the other side of the road, or the landscape is more green and just doesn’t look like Australia at all. Or the girl will be wearing some American cheer leading outfit or something like that. Have a detailed look at the photos.

Another obvious sign is the photos are either extremely HD high quality photos that are obviously from a photo shoot or they are extremely low quality blurry photos that look like they were taken in 2005 or earlier because the girl is dressed in emo fashion haha.

Read the profile. Usually fake accounts will say something like “I’m just looking for fun, sex, friends with benefits etc.” or “add me on KIK” or a link to a website or something. All red flags.

THEY DON’T HAVE FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR SNAPCHAT

This is huge sign. You ask this girl if she has Facebook or Instagram and she says she doesn’t have it. Now some girls genuinely don’t have it but most do these days. So now you are basically talking to a fake that set up a tinder account. Or they give you their Facebook and it only has a few photos and a few Facebook friends.

THEY DON’T HAVE FACEBOOK BUT TELL YOU TO ADD THEM ON INSTAGRAM

This is where things start to get tricky. They have given you the REAL Instagram account of the person whose identity they have stolen. Because that real person won’t mind if you followed them or know who you are and makes you think that the fake on tinder is real and genuine.

THEY TELL YOU TO ADD THEM ON SNAPCHAT BUT THEY DON’T HAVE FACEBOOK OR INSTA

This is when the fakes take it to an extreme level. They will add you on snapchat but guess what. You will never see them send you a photo or video of themselves to you or on their story.

BUT THEY WILL SEND YOU A PIC OR VIDEO TO YOU THROUGH SNAPCHAT AS AN UPLOAD

Do you know the difference?

Recently I knew this “girl” was a fake but I just fucked around with the person so see how far they would go. They didn’t have Facebook or Instagram only snap chat and I asked them to send me a snap and it was a REAL SNAP of just the room and TV so then I asked for a snap of them and they send me an UPLOADED snap of the girl which was obviously a fake (very cute girl, highly edited photo)

This is common and to the guy who hasn’t read this article they would waste heaps of time and may send personal photos or something to this person who could be anyone.

SO YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED A FAKE, WHAT DO YOU DO?

I know you might feel angry or cocky that you have caught out these fakes but whatever you do don’t attack them! Don’t say something like “I caught you out you freak” or something like that because if you piss them off all they have to do is screenshot your photos and make a fake account with your photos if they wanted to.

I admit I wanted to attack them myself but what I do instead once I’m confident the account is fake is simply stop talking to them, maybe I will report the account and then I will simply unmatch them. Or I will even leave myself matched to them so they don’t suspect anything and then in a few hours or days I will unmatched them. I think that’s the best thing to do.
